Almondbank History, Perthshire, Scotland. 16 June 2008. Second World War and Textile Industry Sites in the Almondbank area with West Stormont Historical. Guided walk with author Thomas Huxley of the West Stormont Historical Society to one of the seven Royal Navy stores sites of the Second World War in the Almondbank-Cromwellpark area. Major road improvements associated with the sites will also be seen and the walk will conclude with a visit to the remains of the Egypt textile mill on the River Almond. Copies of the author�s recent book on the subject will be available to buy (�8). Grade of walk: Moderate. FREE (donations to WSHS welcome), but pre-booking required.
