Carol Service Perthshire Scotland

Speaker - Rev David Chillingworth, Bishop of St Andrew’s, Dunkeld and Dunblane. Praise led by a special “Churches Together” choir under the direction of Craig Dennis. The Snow Queen Perthshire Scotland

The Snow Queen, 5th December 2008 to 3rd of January 2009, Perth Theatre, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. 7.30pm, Saturday Matinee 2.30pm. Based on the enchanting story by Hans Christian Andersen, this is a delightful Christmas adventure for the whole family. The wicked Snow Queen smashes her evil mirror and blows the specks and splinters around the world. A piece of the mirror hits young Kay, who the Snow Queen takes to her Ice Palace at the very top of the world. She waits for Kay's heart to turn to ice so her dastardly plan to make winter last forever can be fulfilled. Gerda, Kay's best friend, must journey north and brave many dangers in her attempt to save Kay and break winter's grip. Leading us through terrifying ordeals, as well as endless fun and nonsense, Gerda never gives up. Along the way she meets talking ravens, the evil Cobweb Spider, a prince and princess, a band of robbers, greedy polar bears and a brave reindeer who carries Gerda across the arctic wastes. Advisory: although this is a family show there are scary baddies, not for the under 5s or the very nervous! Perthshire Christmas Celebration 2008


Perthshire Christmas Celebration 2008. Let the Atholl Arms Hotel take the strain out of your Christmas Day with our ever popular 3-day festive break.

Wednesday 24th December 2008; Arrive at the Hotel any time after 3pm. Settle in to your room and relax before dinner, a 3-course Table d’hote menu served in our river restaurant from 6pm to 8.30pm. (table booking is advisable on arrival)

Limited tickets are available for the watch night service at Dunkeld Cathedral

Thursday 25th December 2008. Breakfast will again be served in our River Restaurant from 8am to 9.30am. The serving of Christmas Luncheon will be from 1pm – 3pm to which table booking is required. This will be followed with Coffee and Petit fours served in the lounge. After relaxing for a short time, why not take part in our festive fun quiz, who knows you may even win one of our “exclusive” Prizes!! The evening concludes with the serving of a hot and cold buffet which will be available from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in the lounge area

Friday 26thDecember 2008. The day begins with a full Scottish Breakfast which is served in the river restaurant from 8.00am to 9.45am. After Breakfast the rest of the day is at your own disposal whether it’s a bit of shopping in some of individually owned shops in Dunkeld or even bargain hunting in the Fair City of Perth. A 3-course Table d’hote dinner will again be served in our river restaurant from 6pm to 8.30pm.(table booking is once again advised).
