Kinrossie in 1846. Kinrossie, a village, in the parish of Collace, county of Perth, 1¼ mile (W.) from Collace; containing 157 inhabitants. It lies in the western part of the parish, on the road from Collace to Cargill, and is built on an eminence not far distant from the church. Formerly, two considerable annual fairs were held at this place, of which the ancient cross is now the only memorial, the business in cattle and small wares having been transferred to Burreltown and other places in the neighbourhood. A part of the population is engaged in loom manufactures, which have latterly much increased in the parish.
